Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Benjamin Acorda Jr. supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s drive for the digitalization of government transactions to reduce corruption.

Acorda stated Wednesday that he agrees with Marcos' opinion that digitalization and the use of accessible apps may simplify all transactions, reducing corruption and other abuses.

Marcos unveiled the eGov PH Super App on Friday, claiming that it will streamline operations and reduce corruption.

This activity is part of the National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Month celebrations in June.

In terms of the PNP, Acorda stated that online transactions for civilian license and permit needs, supply procurement, and recruiting application processing are now fully digital.

These advances, he claims, are in accordance with Republic Act 11032, often known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.

According to Acorda, National ICT Month provides a chance to raise awareness among all police units and stakeholders about the critical role of ICT in the efficient delivery of government services.

Maj. Gen. Bernard Banac, director of the Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Management, has urged all police officers and units to sign up for and use the eGov PH Super App.

Meanwhile, Banac said the mobile application integrates the multi-sectoral government through a one-stop online system that will minimize economic costs for citizens.
