Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Rodolfo Azurin has sacked five police officers tagged in the case of the missing e-sabong (online cockfighting) master agent in Laguna last year, according to PNP spokesperson Jean Fajardo.
“Kapipirma lang noong desisyon para sila ay ma-dismiss na sa serbisyo at hinihintay na lang natin ‘yung official proof of service doon sa mga concerned PNP personnel,” Fajardo told the reporters in an interview on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The dismissal comes after the Department of Justice (DOJ) found probable cause to indict three of the five cops for kidnapping and robbery of e-sabong master agent Ricardo Lasco.
Fajardo said the remaining two cops were also sacked due to the “substantial evidence” in their admin case.
“Lima po ito. Although doon sa ni-rekomenda na kaso ng department of justice ay tatlo lamang yung nahanapan ng probable cause at may corresponding information may be filed against these three. But ‘yung lima na na-involve dito ay nakitaan dito ng substantial evidence doon sa kanilang admin case at ang recommendation sa kanila ay dismissal from the service,” she explained.
The five police officers sacked are Police Staff Sgt. Daryl Panghangaan, Pat. Roy Navarete, Lt. Henry Sasaluya, Master Sgt. Michael Claveria and Pat. Regil Brosas.
Fajardo said the five are under restrictive custody of PNP Calabarzon Regional headquarters.
