The Philippine National Police (PNP) denied reports of an alleged raid by police officers at the residence of former President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City.
PNP spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo reiterated that the alleged operation by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Special Action Force (SAF) is "fake news," countering the harassment claims raised by Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte.
“We denied po na mayroon silang operation sa Davao po,” Fajardo firmly stated in a press briefing on Thursday.
“Hindi po natin alam kung saan po hinugot or kinuha po ng ating kagalang-galang na Congressman po ‘yung information po na nandoon po ang mga tauhan ng CIDG to conduct operation po,” she added.
The son of the former President revealed that around 30 CIDG personnel and 90 SAF officers from Luzon arrived at their residence last night.
However, Fajardo stressed that CIDG Director PMGen. Nick Torre himself said he had no knowledge of, nor any involvement in, the alleged operation.
