The Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) have officially launched formal preparations 100 days ahead of the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Parliamentary Election (BARMM PE).

In a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, it was mentioned that the ceremony took place simultaneously today at the PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame, as well as at various regional police offices nationwide.

PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., and the Commission on Elections, represented by Atty. John Rex Laudiangco, signed a solidarity pact to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming elections.

Moreover, despite the earlier questioning from the COMELEC, Marbil outlined the revitalization of the PNP's "Katok" program, which aims to seize loose firearms that could potentially be used by private armed groups.

Outside the PNP Multi-purpose hall, 372 motorcycles and 130 4x4 vehicles were lined up, ready to be dispatched to police units in the regions during the upcoming election period.

On the part of the COMELEC, Laudiangco presented the voting machines, which are said to be specially designed to aid senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the upcoming elections.

Marbil stated that this year, the PNP will focus not just on the usual threats of goons and guns, but also on addressing the rising challenge of fake news.
