The Piston Transport Group (PISTON) threatened a transport strike if the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) did not grant its request for a P1 fare hike.
In an interview with DZRH on Sunday, Piston National President Mody Floranda said jeepney drivers and operators have lost almost P450 income every day within the first two consecutive weeks of the oil price increase, or P12,000 in income loss in one month.
Despite the oil price rollback, Floranda said it would not provide any changes as the oil price will only decrease by P0.40 per liter.
Meanwhile, the Piston leader said that they will not only ask for a P1 fare increase as the oil price has been on the roll for 11 consecutive weeks.
