The Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) denounced acts that force public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers to join the one-week transport strike.
"Huwag talagang pwersahin na lumahok. Talagang dapat voluntary yung ating paglahok ng ating mga kasama sa hanapbuhay," stressed PISTON national president Mody Floranda on Tuesday, March 7, during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
Floranda also promised to speak to a member of PISTON who admitted that he has been taking the signboards of PUJ drivers who continued to operate on Monday, March 6, the first day of the transport strike.
"Dapat ay huwag gawin," Floranda said.
"Kausapin lang, walang kukunin. Ilinaw yung particular na issue bakit nagkakaroon ng strike," the transport group leader added.
PISTON earlier denied reports that non-participating PUJ drivers become victims of harassment.
Transport groups PISTON and MANIBELA launched the one-week transport strike to protest against the public utility vehicle modernization program of the government.
