PBA star Marc Pingris stepped down from his post as the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) commissioner.

In a statement published on Monday, Pingris said he had a tough time deciding, however, he knows 'it is the right one'.

"I have decided to resign from my position as the commissioner of the Pilipinas Super League," he said.

Even though he is no longer in the PSL front office, Pingris stated that he would continue to contribute to the advancement of the Filipino basketball community and expressed gratitude to his PSL family.

"I will always be grateful for the opportunity given me, and will continue to be of service to the basketball community. Sa lahat ng mga nakasama ko sa PSL salamat po sa inyo!!! See you around mga ka PSL! Sa bautista family salamat po ng madami sa tiwala na binigay nyo sa akin! Kay boss ray and boss rocky salamat!," he added.

The 'Pinoy Sakuragi' was appointed as a commissioner last January 2022. He imposed discipline during the PSL's inaugural season, which featured the Visayas-Mindanao-based Pearl of the Orient Cup and the mostly Luzon-based Dumper Cup.
