Ping Remulla proclaimed as Cavite 7th district rep

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) proclaimed Cavite Board Member Crispin Diego “Ping” Remulla as the new province's 7th district representative on Sunday, Feb 26.
He replaced his father, Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla after he was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary.
Remulla ran under National Unity Party, while three rivals were independent.
During the special congressional poll, Remulla garnered 98,474 votes or over 66.67% of the total votes.

Here's the vote breakdown of other candidates:
- Former Trece Martires mayor Melencio de Sagun Jr.: 46,530
- Jose Angelito Domingo Aguinaldo: 1,610
- Michael Angelo Bautista Santos: 1,068
Among 355,184 registered voters in Cavite, 149,581 (42.6%) participated in the special election.
The 7th district of Cavite consists of Trece Martires City, Amadeo, Indang, and Tanza.
