President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has issued an executive order (EO) declaring Pamabansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) as his administration's flagship program.
EO No. 34 stated that 4PH, a program introduced by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), aims to "adress the need for decent housing and to build on the potential impact of a robust housing sector on the growing economy."
"For this purpose, all national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs), and other government entities are hereby directed to provide full support to and cooperation with the DHSUD to ensure the sucessful implementation of the Program," the order reads.
The DHSUD, the lead implementor of the program, shall colloborate with the NGAs and LGUs to identify the lands owned by either the national and local government that can be used for housing and human settlements.
The concerned agencies are also mandated to identify public lands and recommend these to the President.
"National Government departments, agencies, and instrumentalities , including GOCCs and their subsidiareis, as well as LGUs, shall conduct an inventory of the lands that they own and administer, and submit the complete list to the DHSUD within 60 calendar days from issuance of this Order," the EO No. 34 stated.
The necessary funds for the implementation of the 4PH's program shall be credited into the concerned government agencies' appropriations.
The EO dated July 17 was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin for Marcos.
