Sacks of waste were left at Quirino Grandstand and along the Traslacion route, the procession carrying the image of Jesus Nazareno, which commenced on Thursday morning.
In a report by Edniel Parrosa, large amounts of trash were left behind along Taft Avenue at around 7:45 a.m.
In response to the litter left along the route, the Manila Department of Public Service (Manila DPS) immediately began cleaning up the areas passed by the Traslacion.
The procession officially commenced at 4:41 a.m., beginning its route from Quirino Grandstand and making its way toward the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno.
Moreover, it will follow its traditional route, passing through various streets, city roads, and bridges in Manila, before reaching Quiapo Church.
