The Philippines ranked seventh in the world’s fastest-growing remote work hubs, according to a travel and work platform, World Economic Forum (WEF).

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the WEF posted in an Instagram reel wherein the country took the 7th place in Nomad List, a platform where over 10,000 members record where they are working.

The Nomad List provided the complete list of destinations growing fast this year, with Japan leading the ranking.

  • 10 - Ljubljana, Slovenia

  • 9 - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

  • 8 - Hanoi, Vietnam

  • 7 - Manila, Philippines

  • 6 - Montevideo, Uruguay

  • 5 - Penang, Malaysia

  • 4 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

  • 3 - Seoul, South Korea

  • 2 - Da Nang, Vietnam

  • 1 - Tokyo, Japan

“[This] shows the growth in check-ins for each year in the last 5 years, as well as the last 5 year's growth numbers, and it's ranked by the last 2 year's growth numbers to give you an idea of the fastest growing remote work hubs,” the Nomad List stated in its report.

According to the report, the Philippines grew a 78 percent increase from 2018 to 2022 and a 58 percent increase in growth based on 11 months of data.

The Nomad List ranked the growth rates based on live data analyzing nearly 300,000 check-ins.
