The Philippines has recorded a total of 2,839,790 cases of the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) since the pandemic started.
The Department of Health (DOH) reported 889 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, December 30, which brought the number of active COVID-19 cases to 10,418.
Based on DOH data on December 27, 4.5 percent of 27,615 individuals tested for COVID-19 yielded positive results.
"Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat, 2 mga laboratoryo ang hindi operational noong December 27, 2021 habang mayroong 1 laboratoryo na hindi nakapagsumite ng datos sa COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS)," DOH said.
"Base sa datos sa nakaraang 14 na araw, ang kontribusyon ng 3 labs na ito ay humigit kumulang 0.4% sa lahat ng samples na naitest at 0% sa lahat ng positibong mga indibidwal," the agency added.
Meanwhile, DOH also said that the total number of COVID-19 recoveries climbed up to 2,778,131 after 214 patients managed to beat the respiratory illness.
However, 28 patients succumbed to COVID-19 which pushed the death toll up to 51,241.
