Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Frasco announced that the Philippines will participate in the upcoming Osaka Kansai Japan Expo in 2025 following the approval of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos.

Frasco delivered the news at the Glorietta activity center in Makati during the Japan Fiesta 2023 organized by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, the Japan National Tourism Organization, The Japan Foundation Manila, The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines, Inc., and The Japanese Association Manila, Inc.

Frasco made her speech before Kazuhiko Koshikawa, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of the Philippines, and other directors and representatives. The DOT secretary conveyed that the Philippines aims to nurture its bond with Japan and that with the upcoming expo from April 13 to October 13, 2025, PH will showcase the best of the Filipino people.

The expo is expected to welcome about 28 million visitors and will take place in Yumeshima, Osaka.
