The Philippines will be hosting the 2024 Forbes Asia Forum and Global CEO Conference, Malacañang announced on Friday, June 2.

In a press release, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. agreed to the request of the senior executives of Forbes Media LCC to organize the forum and global conference in the country in the fourth quarter of 2024 during a meeting in Malacañang on Thursday.

The said conference will gather global chief executive officers (CEOs), business tycoons, entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders who will address critical topics of worldwide concern and form new relationships, with a fireside discussion between a senior Forbes editor and the head of the host country.

“I hope that we can feature that in this conference and we can show the Philippines as it is now, as opposed to perhaps some of the ideas that people have had almost for a while,” Marcos told Forbes’ top executives.

According to the President, his administration has focused on bolstering the economy and inviting greater investment in areas such as digitization, energy, connectivity, bureaucratic changes, and infrastructure construction like roads and school buildings.

“I have the Filipino workforce that, for me, is still going to be, it has been a blessing. You know we have the youngest workforce in the region… they’re very well-trained English-speaking [workers],” he added.

Marcos likewise stated that his administration has launched a “charm offensive” for the Philippines to compete with countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, China, and Japan which have the fastest expanding and most active economies.

This year's Forbes Asia Forum and Global CEO Conference will take place in Singapore in September, and visiting executives have urged the President to participate in a sideline discussion during the conference.
