The Philippines will experience the longest day and shortest night of the year today, June 21, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday.

According to the state meteorological office, the sun will rise around 5:28 a.m. and will set by 6:28 p.m.

PAGASA explained that the northern hemisphere will have the longest day and the first day of summer on June Solstice, resulting in the first day of winter in the southern hemisphere, with the sun setting earlier.
