The Embassy of South Korea and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) hve united to strengthen cooperation and air connectivity between the two nations.

CAAP welcomed a courtesy visit from South Korean embassy officials on Wednesday, July 5, after the Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) on June 24, 2023, welcomed the inaugural flight of Air Busan BX7135 from Incheon, South Korea, with 217 passengers on board.

At 10:01 p.m., flight BX7135 departed Incheon Airport and arrived at Bohol-Panglao at 1:12 in the morning, "marking the beginning of daily Incheon-Bohol-Incheon flight operations."

The Incheon-Bohol-Incheon inaugural flight ceremony was attended by local government officials, including CAAP-BPIA's acting airport manager, Anghelo B. Ibañez, representatives from partnered agencies, local media, and airline executives.

Ibañez stated that the new flight route will indeed create additional opportunities for tourism and business growth in Tagbilaran and the rest of mainland Bohol as it continually enhances the safety, accessibility, and convenience of passengers in BPIA.

It has been said that increased flights and routes to popular tourist areas are anticipated as a result of the CAAP and its South Korean counterpart's improved collaboration.
