At least two million more doses of COVID-19 vaccines from Chinese firm Sinovac arrived in the Philippines on Thursday., the National Task Force Against COVID-19 said.
Of this latest batch of Sinovac's CoronaVac vaccines, 1.6M doses were procured by the national government, while the remaining 400,000 doses were purchased by the IPnBiotech for the city govt of Manila.
The latest shipment arrived via a Cebu Pacific flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport around 7:50 AM.
This shipment is the fourth batch of Sinovac vaccines delivered this month, bringing to 11 million the total number of doses received by the Philippines.
On June 17, 1.5 million doses of CoronaVac were delivered. One million doses of that same vaccine were also delivered each on June 8 and June 10.
So far, the country has received a total of 16.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
