The Philippines and New Zealand remained committed to strengthening the current diplomatic ties by pursuing a broad-ranging partnership.
On Friday, during the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Meetings in the Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR), Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon held a bilateral meeting, aiming to foster stronger and more dynamic ties between the two nations.
“I think, the roadmap that’s being finalized now we should have it ready by the 60th anniversary of [the] establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries,” said Marcos.
Marcos informed that government agencies are finalizing the 2024-2025 Roadmap to Comprehensive Partnership between PH and New Zealand.
“I think we’ve made some good progress … and continued progress on the roadmap,” Prime Minister Luxon said.
Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and New Zealand were formally established in 1996.
