The Philippine Marine Corps conducted tests on its newly acquired Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) equipped with outboard motors, which are intended for the Force Reconnaissance Group (FRG).
According to the PMC, the water assets were tested at the Force Reconnaissance Group Headquarters, Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim in Ternate, Cavite on Saturday, January 25.
In a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, it was stated that the PMC did not disclose the number of new water assets acquired by the force.
The CRRC will be utilized by FRG-deployed units, working alongside marine brigades and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Special Operations Command (SOCOM), to assist in carrying out special operations missions in their respective areas of operation.
Additionally, these water assets are anticipated to strengthen the force's capabilities by offering reliable platforms that are fully operational for small-scale amphibious operations.
By acquiring additional water assets, the PMC seeks to strengthen its ability to overcome obstacles that affect mission success.
This effort directly supports the Navy's core function of providing mission-ready Marine forces and safeguarding national sovereignty and maritime interests.
Furthermore, it will ensure the availability of a sufficient number of water assets in top condition, ready to be used in any military operations.
"Aligned with the Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program, the PMC is steadfastly advancing toward its aspirations to be an amphibious crisis response force at very high readiness, an evolution integral to the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC)," the PMC said in a statement on Tuesday.
The focus is on enhancing the capability to safeguard the country’s territory, with particular attention to developing amphibious forces that align with the AFP’s external defense operations.
