The Philippine Embassy in Türkiye on Sunday said the search for the Filipina adult and children, who went missing during the massive earthquake in Türkiye last week, is still being conducted.
In a statement, the Embassy said the Turkish husband and sister-in-law have confirmed that his Filipina wife and their children have not yet been found.
"The embassy has sought the assistance of search-and-rescue teams in Hatay City on the status of a missing Filipino and their children, feared to be still under the rubble," it said.
Meanwhile, the Embassy welcomed the planned deployment of personnel from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to support its relief operations.
It also expressed its gratitude for the aid sent by the Filipino community in Türkiye to the families who were affected by the earthquake and are currently sheltered in Ankara.
"The Embassy team continues to be present in Mersin, less than 100 kilometers to Adana and roughly 250 kilometers to Hatay, in order to respond immediately to the needs of Filipinos and their families," it said.
Last Friday, the Embassy confirmed that two Filipinos perished in the killer earthquake.
A magnitude 7.8 earthquake jolted Türkiye and Syria on February 6.
As of Monday, February 13, Reuters reported that the death toll is now 33,000.
A total of 29,695 deaths were recorded in Turkey while 3,500 were in Syria.
