The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 6th Infantry Division (6ID) has conducted a community outreach program in Brgy. Elian, Dapiawan, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur last May 11 and 12.
In a news release on Tuesday, AFP 6ID said its army members distributed slippers and school supplies and had a feeding program.
“The outreach program has promoted civic engagement and strengthened communities by addressing their societal needs,” it said.
Among the operating troops in 6ID that participated are the 92nd Infantry “Tanglaw Diwa” Battalion (92IB), 62nd Mechanized Company of the 6th Mechanized Battalion (6th MechBn), and 12th Civil Military Operations (CMO) Battalion (12CMOBn).
The program incorporated the theme "Proper Elian Child Development Center and Supervised Neighborhood Play”.
The AFP 61D along with their partner Army unity was praised by the AFP leaders for continuously addressing the social needs and welfare of the community.
