The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) on Tuesday launched the "Purple Wednesday" campaign to celebrate National Women’s Month this March.
In a Facebook post, PCW encouraged the public to wear anything purple every Wednesday this month, especially on International Women’s Day on March 8.
"Make this your Wednesday habit this month of March! Maki-isa sa Purple Wednesdays bilang suporta sa karapatan ng mga kababaihan at pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian," it captioned the post.
"You can also take photos and post them with the hashtags #WEcanbeEquALL and #PurpleWednesdays2023!" PCW said.
Apart from this, the agency also organized "Serbisyo Para Kay Juana 2023", an initiative that encourages government agencies and private organizations to give discounts, freebies, or special offers to women and girls.
