In response to recent inquiries raised by Senator Raffy Tulfo regarding an individual purportedly winning the lottery games on numerous occasions, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has issued a statement to clarify the matter.
Senator Tulfo had drawn attention to a list provided by PCSO, which allegedly indicated repeated wins by an individual.
PCSO emphasizes that this list should be understood in its intended context and not misinterpreted.
Upon examination, PCSO confirms that the list in question does include the name of an individual who has claimed prizes in lower-tiered digit games.
The corporartion noted that these are not jackpot lottery games but rather digit games.
Contrary to assumptions, PCSO highlights that the same list reveals no instances of repeat winners for jackpot-bearing games such as Lotto 6/42, Mega Lotto 6/45, and others.
“The real issue here therefore is the claimant, and not the number of times that he supposedly won as what Sen. Tulfo seemed to have assumed. To be clear, the reported 20 claims made by one person does not necessarily make that claimant the winner of 20 Digit Games,” PCSO said in a statement.
For Digit Games like 2D, 3D, 4D, and 6D, PCSO allows lotto outlet agents or representatives of the winners to collect prizes on their behalf. This practice, known as "paki-claim," is often utilized due to reasons such as distance or the lack of valid identification cards of winners.
While minor prizes can be claimed through "paki-claim," jackpot winners are required to personally appear at the PCSO Main Office to claim their prizes.
PCSO reiterates its commitment to the safety, security, and well-being of all lotto winners, ensuring fairness and integrity in every draw. They assure the public that their dedication remains unwavering in fostering a gaming environment built on fairness and transparency.
