The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has issued a statement following the Supreme Court's decision labeling the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte as unconstitutional.

The PCO, while acknowledging the Supreme Court’s decision, emphasized the importance of reviewing the full text of the ruling before drawing any conclusions.

“We have yet to review the full text of the Supreme Court’s decision. We call on everyone to respect the Supreme Court and place their trust in our institutions,” the statement read.

The impeachment process, which involves both the legislative and judicial branches, has sparked discussions about the independence and integrity of these institutions. The PCO reiterated its recognition of this independence.

“The impeachment process is a matter handled by the legislative and judicial branches, and we recognize their independence in carrying out their constitutional mandates,” PCO stated.
