The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) condemned the killing of a female broadcaster in Zamboanga City.
In a statement on Wednesday, October 23, PCO called on authorities to conduct a swift and impartial probe into the death of Ma. Vilma Rodriguez.
"These kinds of vile and atrocious acts have no place in our nation, which values freedom, democracy, and the rule of law above all," PCO said.
PCO also directed all concerned government agencies to provide their fullest support to the kin of Rodriguez, a mother of four children.
"We assure them, as well, of our commitment to pursuing truth and justice for Ms. Rodriguez," the agency said.
Per reports, a gunman shot Rodriguez thrice in front of her family at a store at around 8:45PM on Tuesday, October 22, in Brgy. Tumaga, Zamboanga City.
Police arrested the suspect at around 1:15AM on Wednesday.
