The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed that no public funds have been used to create the government’s new branding and communications strategy, the "Bagong Pilipinas" logo.

According to the PCO, the logo was done internally and without any cost to the government.

On the other hand, Department of Tourism Secretary (DOT) Christina Frasco previously explained that their office did not use a single penny of the government fund for the promotional video on the recently launched "Love the Philippines" campaign, which drew negative criticism from the public.

The new logo of the state-owned Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) received criticism after it was introduced on July 11, and House minority lawmakers are calling for an investigation into its procurement.

The PCO explained that the "Bagong Pilipinas" logo has three red stripes that signify post-war agricultural and rural development, the post-colonial period, and modern metropolitan development.

While the two blue stripes signify the Philippines' future goals: a progressive Philippines that uses technology improvement to pursue sustainable industrial development.

The rising sun heralds the start of a new era in the Philippines, and the weave design represents the Filipino people's connectivity and unity.

Overall, said the PCO, the rebranded logo embodies the Marcos administration’s vision for the country, emphasizing unity, involvement, and the bayanihan culture as the main fibers and components for its full realization.
