The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Friday, January 12, that it has retrieved a dead body near the vicinity waters off Binondo-Intramuros Bridge along Pasig River.

In a statement, the PCG said it assisted a search and rescue (SAR) operation and found the missing person on Thursday, January 11, at around 10:37 p.m.

PCG said that the retrieved body jumped off the river.

Around 10:40 PM, authorities conducted an initial investigation and turned over later on to the Manila Police District (MPD) Homicide Division at around 11:40.

"The MPD brought the body to a nearby funeral service provider for proper disposition," the PCG said.
