PCG recovers P61-M worth of illegal drugs in Northern Samar

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Northern Samar recovered Php 61 million worth of illegal drugs at Allen Port, Northern Samar on August 8.

In a post by the Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas (CGDEV), they stated that nine blocks of confirmed illegal drugs, positively identified by the Forensic Unit of Samar, were recovered from the operation. The CGDEV conducted the seizure along with the Field Operations Unit (K9-Unit) and the Operational Control Unit of Eastern Visayas.

According to PCG, a piece of abandoned luggage was discovered at the Allen Port facility, containing the concealed drugs. The discovery led to the immediate investigation by the Coast Guard K9-Unit.

After their examination, the Forensic Unit of Northern Samar confirmed that the luggage contained Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or Shabu.

The seized illegal drugs were immediately turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Allen, Northern Samar, while the suspect is now in the custody of the Allen Municipal Police Station.
