The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted an aerial survey on Tuesday, July 30, and observed "very minimal" and "unnoticeable" oil sheens along the coastlines of Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, and Cavite.
According to the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation Limited (ITOPF), social media reports featuring videos and pictures of oil sheens or oil spills did not accurately reflect the actual aerial observations, the PCG said in a Facebook post.
"Oil sheens were observed at ground zero – where the MT Terranova sank," the PCG added.
In a report by Boy Gonzales on Wednesday, Coast Guard personnel are currently inspecting the area around Limay, Bataan.

On July 25, the MT Terranova capsized and sank off Limay while carrying 1.4 million liters of industrial fuel oil.
The University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute had previously projected that the oil slick might reach Metro Manila by Tuesday.
