The Philippines third resupply mission to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal was once again blocked by several Chinese vessels on Friday, September 9.
According to Christian Maño's report in MBC Network News, the update was reported by United States-based security expert Ray Powell, who said that two Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) ships and 10 maritime vessels engaged in the blocking.
Powell said China's own AIS-tracking site showed two smaller militia ships (Qiong Qio Ghai Yu 11003 and 11004) helping block the entrance to Ayungin Shoal, in addition to eight militia ships.
"China's own AIS-tracking site (http://ais.msa.gov.cn) shows 2 smaller militia Qiong Qio Ghai Yu 11003 & 11004 also helping block entrance to Ayungin Shoal, in addition to 8 Qiong Sansha Yu ships noted above. Also cargo ship Chang Zheng 1 Hao for unknown purposes." said Powell in a Twitter post.
The expert also identified the Philippine Coast Guard's (PCG) ships as BRP Cabra and BRP Sinadangan.
Meanwhile, the AFP and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) have not released their statements yet.
It can be recalled that the PCG was blocked multiple times in its own exclusive economic zone (EEZ), engaging in dangerous maneuvers and blasting water canons.
China earlier announced their new version of their map called "10-dash-line" overlapping the Philippines EEZ.
On the other hand, the Philippines defended its territory with the 2016 Arbitral Ruling, which already neglected China's claims.
