President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. extended his well wishes to former US President Donald Trump following an assassination attempt during his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“It is with great relief that we receive the news that former President Donald Trump is fine and well after the attempt to assassinate him,” Marcos said in a statement on his official X account on Sunday.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family,” he added.
Marcos reiterated that he condemns all forms of political violence and highlighted the supremacy of the voice of the people.
“Together with all democracy loving peoples around the world, we condemn all forms of political violence. The voice of the people must always remain supreme," he said.
On Saturday, Trump was rushed off stage by the United States Secret Service after gunshots were heard while he was delivering a speech, where he sustained an ear injury.
