President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. visited the “Pinas Lakas” vaccination program in Pasig Sports Complex on Monday, August 1.
According to RH14 Leth Narciso's report on DZRH’s Rapido Hataw Balita, the “Pinas Lakas” is a new nationwide vaccination program launched by the Marcos administration that aims to increase the number of Filipinos to receive their COVID-19 booster shot.
In his speech, Marcos said he went to Pasig City to physically observe if the booster rollout is administered properly and efficiently.
The President then encouraged the public to get their booster for full protection against the COVID-19 virus and help end the pandemic.
He also underscored that people should not wait for the COVID-19 cases to increase again, which consequently will make it difficult to go outside and work.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergere, the Department of Health (DOH) officer-in-charge (OIC), and Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto joined the President in the vaccination program.
As of July 26, DOH recorded that 15,975,337 Filipinos have already received their first booster shot. While 1,232,816 individuals who belong to the vulnerable population including healthcare workers, senior citizens, and people with impaired immune systems, have received their second booster shot.
