President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. will be released from isolation today, Dec. 10, after showing positive signs of recovery from COVID-19, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
In a press release posted on Saturday, Dec. 9, PCO said Marcos “is progressing well in his recovery”, adding that he has had no cough, nasal congestion, and fever for more than 24 hours.
“All other medical findings were unremarkable. Consequently, the President's final diagnosis is Covid-19, Recovered. Throughout the entire home isolation period, the President was closely monitored by medical professionals,” it said.
“The President's isolation period ends on Sunday, December 10,” PCO continued.
According to the communications office, Marcos would still wear a face mask during his public engagements for 10 days as recommended by his doctors.
Last Dec. 5, PCO announced that Marcos tested positive for COVID-19 and was mandated to be isolated for five days.
This was his third time contracting the virus — the first was in March 2020 and the second was in July 2022 after he was sworn into office.
