President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. is slated to fly to Singapore on Thursday, September 13, to attend the 10th Asian Conference where he will put forward his administration's priority policies and programs, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
In a statement on Monday, PCO said Marcos will deliver a 30-minute talk, dubbed “A Conversation with the President of the Republic of the Philippines", which will highlight the "government efforts in improving the lives of Filipinos amid challenges from significant global events."
"Marcos will be the first sitting Philippine President to address the Milken Institute’s Asia Summit," it said.
The President is also scheduled to meet economic managers and business leaders from various industries in Singapore to form potential partnerships.
According to the communications office, this year's Asia Summit will center on various issues, including peace and stability, inequality, cultural differences, and irreparable environmental damage.
On the sidelines of the 10th Asian Summit, Marcos will attend and watch the high-class international racing event, Formula One (F1) Singapore Grand Prix 2023, upon the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
His trip to Singapore comes a week after he participated in the 43rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Marcos' departure on Thursday would also coincide with his 66th birthday celebration.
