President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. plans to rebuild the UniTeam, the alliance of political parties that supported his Presidential run in the 2022 elections, for the mid-term polls.

President Marcos made the declaration during the signing of alliance between his political party, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) headed by House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

The Chief Executive stressed on Wednesday, May 8, that his victory in the previous Presidential elections stemmed from the public accepting his call for unity.

"Kailangan natin ang pagkakaisa dahil ito ang tanging solusyon sa mga suliranin na hinaharap ng lipunan ng Pilipinas, kaya’t iyan ang patuloy natin na ipaglalaban," President Marcos said during the event at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City.

"If we continue to do that, then we will continue to be met with success, we will continue to be met with the progress that we dreamed of for Bagong Pilipinas at ang Bagong Pilipino," the President added.

President Marcos also deflected the successes of his Administration to the unity in the national government.

"Hindi lamang kagaya ng dati, kung minsan sinasabi itong mga project na ito, sa DPWH lang ‘yan, ito sa DOH lang ‘yan. Hindi na tayo ganun ngayon. Tayo’y nagkakaisa at sinasabi natin lahat ng kayang tumulong ay dapat may kasama sa pagtulong sa pagpaganda ng buhay ng bawat isang Pilipino," the President said.

President Marcos also highlighted the cooperation between the Legislative and Executive branches of government.

"We have to make some very, very fundamental structural and policy changes. We cannot do those policy changes without the support of the Legislature. Legislative support for any policy is absolutely necessary," the President said.

"That is what I talk about when I talk about the all-of-government approach. Where It’s no longer just the Executive who is expected to implement programs or to be part of the economic progress, the part of the development of the country," the Chief Executive added.
