President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has expressed his confidence in the leadership of newly appointed Finance Secretary Ralph Recto.

In a media interview on Friday, Marcos said that Recto will implement new ideas and new commitments with the Department of Finance (DOF).

“We have so many new ideas and new commitments that we have taken on for the improvement of the economy,” the Executive Chief said.

Meanwhile, he clarified that the policies of the agency will remain the same.

“So, the policies remain the same. The fiscal discipline will remain the same,” Marcos said.

The Executive Chief said that he wanted the new finance chief to look into the operations of the finance department first and analyze the important issues in the department.

He also stressed that his economic team will come up with a list of priorities in terms of specific projects and the development of the proposals that were made during his foreign trips.
