President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. urged Filipino Catholics to “translate their faith into action” on Sunday, January 21, the feast day of Señor Sto. Niño.
“To the millions of devotees, I urge you to translate your faith into action so that you may spread the message of hope, love, and joy to others. Most importantly, always pray for spiritual strength and fortitude to overcome whatever challenges and difficulties that may lie ahead,” Marcos said in his message published by the Presidential Communication Office.
The President asked Filipinos to work together with his administration "in maximizing all of the opportunities" this 2-24, guided by "faith" and inspired by the "bayanihan spirit."
"Let us remain ever conscious of the responsibilities we all bear as Catholics and citizens of our country so that we may reach our shared destiny of Bagong Pilipinas that opens a better and more abundant life for all Filipinos," he furthered.
Various festivities were commenced in Manila and Cebu.
According to RH 5 Val Gonzales, a mass and mini procession was held to celebrate Sto Niño's feast day in Manilla.
The Manila Police District recorded more than 3,000 devotees attending the procession as of 12 PM.
