President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. will be having at least six bilateral meetings wherein he will meet with business executives from Thailand to discuss potential investments in the Philippines at the sidelines of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, Malacañang announced Monday.
In a press briefing, Office of the Press Secretary officer-in-charge Undersecretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil confirmed Marcos' attendance to the APEC Summit in Thailand slated on November 18-19.
The President will also participate in the APEC CEO Summit, as per Garafil.
"He will meet with top executives of Thai companies to discuss business opportunties, investments and expansion plans," she said.
Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Eric Tamayo earlier said the President's meetings with these businesses are still being finalized.
When asked if Marcos will meet with United States Vice President Kamala Harris and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will reportedly attend the summit, Tamayo said: "Right now, I can say that among the roster of bilateral meetings of the President that these meetings have yet to be explored for the time being."
Marcos received $14.36 billion worth of investment pledges from his recent state visits to Indonesia and Singapore. His US trip also produced almost $4 billion in investment commitments.
