President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday encouraged local government units (LGUs) to be open to public-private partnerships (PPP) for the funding of their projects.
In a report by DZRH's Leth Narciso, Marcos told members of the League Cities of the Philippines in a meeting on Aug. 2, that digitalization will play an important part in the PPP.
He asserted that this will especially help in pushing for economic recovery and digital transformation in the Philippines.
Marcos said his administration will also focus on infrastructure, aside from digitization.
He mentioned that many countries have offered opportunities.
The President shared that an ambassador have already made a courtesy call and offered numerous help.
The big-ticket project, including the official development assistance (ODA) and joint ventures, are the offers he received.
Marcos then urged the local government to find local partners and investors to become the driving force in economic transformation.
