President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has declared every Nov. 3 to 9 of the year as the Philippine Criminology Week.
The declaration is enclosed in Proclamation No. 397 dated Nov. 7 but released on Nov. 9.
“It is imperative to recognize the role of the criminology profession in the maintenance of national security, and to honor Filipino Criminologists who have remained committed to the exercise of their profession while contributing immensely to the development of our nation, especially in the sector of public safety and peace and order,” the order reads.
The Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology is directed to “lead the observance of the Philippine Criminology Week, and identify the programs, projects, and activities for the yearly celebration thereof.”
All national government agencies and instrumentalities, local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and the private sector “are highly encouraged to actively participate, and render the necessary” for the successful implementation of Philippine Criminology Week.
