by Christhel Cuazon04 April 2024

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has declared April 10 as a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr, or the Feast of Ramadhan.

In a document released by the Palace on Thursday, the President signed Proclamation No. 514 declaring April 10 as a regular holiday "in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness."

By declaring Eid’l Fitr, or the Feast of Ramadhan as a holiday, Marcos said it would “allow the entire Filipino nation to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony.”

The proclamation was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin on April 4.
