President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. lauded the Philippine delegation to the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia.
The delegation placed fifth in the medal tally after winning 34 gold medals, 33 silver medals, and 50 bronze medals in the multi-sport biennial event that ran from June 2 until June 9.
The Philippines surpassed the 28 gold medal haul of the country in the previous edition of the ASEAN Para Games held in Sukarta, Indonesia.
Among the 11 countries competing in the 12th ASEAN Para Games, Indonesia topped the medal tally after gathering 153 gold medals, 141 silver medals, and 93 bronze medals.
