The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced on Monday, February 26, the appointment of a new administrator of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).
In a press release posted on its official website, PCO said President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. tapped lawyer Jose Moises Salonga last February 19.
"Salonga will take over the operations of the LWUA, a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) with a specialized lending function mandated by law to promote and oversee the development of water supply systems in provincial cities and municipalities outside of Metro Manila," it said.
According to PCO, Salonga previously worked in government agencies such as the Philippine National Police and the Office of the Executive Secretary.
The new LWUA chief also had worked in state-owned Land Bank of the Philippines, First Farmers’ Rural Bank Batangas Inc., Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corp., PNOC-Renewable Corp., and National Power Corp.
Salonga will be replacing Atty. Vicente Homer Revil, who was appointed by Marcos in February last year.
