The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) officially unveiled its commemorative logo on Monday to kick off celebrations for its 50th anniversary.
In a bold new look, the PBA presented an all-gold logo, departing from the classic red and blue lettering.
Additionally, the silhouette of the dribbling player inside the "B" is now black, with the number "50" in gold placed beneath it to honor the 50-year milestone.
PBA Chairman Ricky Vargas and Commissioner Willie Marcial, joined by fellow PBA Board members, unveiled the new logo, with the event also attended by iconic PBA legends.
The all-gold logo will be featured on players' jerseys, referees' uniforms, and staff apparel, beginning with the semifinals of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup.
As part of the PBA's anniversary celebration, the 10 new players inducted into the 50 Greatest list will be revealed on April 9, coinciding with the PBA's official anniversary.
Furthermore, a selection panel is set to determine the 10 additional players who will complete the prestigious PBA 50 Greatest Players list. PBA legend and former PSL commissioner Allan Caidic represented the committee at the logo reveal event.
In celebration of its golden year, the PBA will open Season 50 on October 5, highlighted by the rare return of former players, officials, executives, and other key individuals who have made significant contributions to the league’s success over the years.
As part of its fan engagement, the PBA will host campus tours where players visit their alma maters, the “Adopt-a-Court” program, and surprise visits to local basketball courts.
