Scottie Thompson delivered a historic performance as Barangay Ginebra overcame an early deficit to defeat San Miguel, 105-91, in Game 4 of the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup semifinals at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.

Thompson recorded a career-best 35 points while also contributing 11 rebounds and 11 assists, completing a rare triple-double that propelled the Kings’ late-game surge. Ginebra fell behind by 14 points early but steadily chipped away at San Miguel’s lead, eventually taking control in the second half.

Supporting Thompson, Aguilar scored 14 points, Torres added 13, David had 12, and Abarrientos contributed 11, helping Ginebra maintain a balanced attack. Other scorers included Cu (7), Rosario (6), Holt (4), and Pinto (3).

For San Miguel, CJ Perez led with 22 points, followed by Ross with 20 and Cruz with 15. Meanwhile, Fajardo managed 9 points, while other contributors included Trollano (8), Brondial (7), and Tautuaa (5). Several players—including Lassiter, Tiongson, and Teng—did not score.

The game’s quarter-by-quarter scores reflected a hard-fought contest: Ginebra trailed 26-36 after the first, closed to 56-55 at halftime, remained behind 72-75 after the third, but finished strong in the fourth to secure a 14-point victory.

With this win, Ginebra keeps its hopes alive in the semifinals, while San Miguel will look to rebound in the next game of the best-of-seven series.
