Several PBA players could face suspension and fines worth up to Php 50,000 for playing at an exhibition game in Cebu over the weekends.
PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro stressed on Tuesday, April 25, that the league issued a memorandum regarding the participation of players in 'ligang labas' games without authorization from their mother teams.
"In this case right now, yung sa Cebu, I have talked to some of the team managers, hindi sila nagpaalam," Castro said during the Philippine Sportswriters' Association forum.
Castro said that PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial will meet with all involved players on May 3 in order to remind them of league rules.
The PBA executive said that the summoned players include Beau Belga, Rey Nambatac, JR Quinahan, Jio Jalalon, and Robert Bolick.
