The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) imposed a Php 20,000 fine against Converge FiberXers assistant coach Danny Ildefonso over the 'farm team' comments that he made in Facebook.

The two-time Most Valuable Player responded to netizens who called to ban his son, Dave Ildefonso, from the PBA because he has yet to sign a contract with the Northport Batang Pier, which drafted him last July.

PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial said that the elder Ildefonso did not deny making the viral comments, and apologized for his actions.

"Nag-usap kami. Tinanong ko kung anong nangyari. Nadala lang siya doon sa emotion, doon sa mga nakikita niyang composed din ng mga netizen," Marcial told reporters.
