A ₱100,000 reward is up for any individual, who can give information that can lead to the arrest of the gunman in the brazen killing of radio broadcaster in Calamba, Misamis Occidental, Juan "Johnny Walker" Jumalon, Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFOMS) Usec. Paul Gutierrez said on Monday, Nov. 5.
Interviewed during DZRH Dos Por Dos, Guiterrez said the ₱100,000 reward was voluntarily given by a friend who asked not to be named.
"Magbibigay po ng ₱100,000 bilang reward sa kung sino mang makapagtuturo sa gunman at makatutulong sa maagang resolusyon po ng kasong ito," he said.

Guiterrez said authorities are looking at land dispute and the recently-concluded barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan elections as motives for killing Johnny Walker.
"Parang 'yung away sa lupa, medyo mabigat dahil nagkaroon ng kaso sa korte," he said.
The PTFOMS official said the radio broadcaster did not have enemies, and his death may not be connected to his work as a journalist.
"What I am seeing here, based din naman sa matagal nating karanasan sa pamamahayag, mukhang medyo lumalabo yung anggulo na kaya siya ay pinatay ay dahil sa kanyang pagbatikos o komentaryo sa radyo," Gutierrez added.
According to the PTFOMS official, the killer caught in the closed circuit television (CCTV) pretended that he would just ask Johnny Walker to publicly announce an appeal.
"Ang pasabi raw ay makikiusap lang na may gagawing public appeal or public service. Parang mananawagan daw sa radyo gano'n," he said.
Guiterrez said the house where the radio broadcaster goes on air for his program had no security guards deployed.
"Siguro medyo kampante itong ating napaslang na kasamahan," he added.
On Sunday, Nov. 4, President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. condemned the radio broadcaster's death, and he tasked the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct an in-depth investigation.
The PNP has formed a special investigation task force that will focus on the murder case.
