The Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) denied the request from Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s camp to transfer his custody from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
“Nag-submit na rin ng formal reply ang AFP, objecting doon sa motion nila na i-transfer from AFP and PNP. So dineny na ng court ‘yon,” Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo said during a press briefing at Camp Crame on Friday.
On September 8, Quiboloy fell into the hands of the authorities after more than two weeks of searching for him at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City.
Following the arrest, his camp requested to transfer him from the PNP Custodial Center to an AFP facility due to alleged threats on the life of the self-proclaimed 'appointed Son of God.'
Furthermore, the Department of National Defense (DND) filed a motion with the Pasig City RTC to deny the request.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Quiboloy arrived along with his cohorts at Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 159 for their arraignment on charges of qualified human trafficking and sexual abuse.
