The Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) denied the appeal for house or hospital arrest by Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy, as confirmed by his legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon.
Quiboloy's lawyer declined to disclose the reasons behind the court's decision to reject their appeal.
Nevertheless, Quiboloy's camp plans to file a Motion for Reconsideration, believing that Quiboloy has valid medical grounds to avoid being detained in a regular prison.
A Pasig Court has issued an arrest warrant for Quiboloy in connection with a non-bailable case involving the alleged abuse of several members of the KOJC.
However, the transfer of the pastor from the Philippine National Police Custodial Center to Pasig City Jail was postponed due to his camp's request for hospital arrest.
